Today, the demand for public health and healthcare IT specialists who can transform data into usable information is high. With a single patient generating nearly 80 megabytes of data each year, the compound annual growth rate of data for healthcare will reach 40% in years to come. This growth rate is notably faster than any other massive industries, including manufacturing, financial services, media and entertainment. The growing volume of health related data, an increase in technological know-how, and request for quick and efficient healthcare processes and systems are all driving the demand in public health and healthcare analysts and data scientists. With training in public health Informatics and technology from BSU, you’ll put your skills in informatics and computer science to work to improve patient care and the health of populations, while reducing per capita costs. You will learn public health and healthcare IT, electronic health records, decision support, interoperability, data privacy and security, public health data science including artificial intelligence and machine learning and data analytics including data preprocessing and visualization. The training is sponsored by the Office of the National Coordinator by over a $10 million grant.
